So the past two weeks have consisted of being at the shoot for Target at Pier 59 Studios. That shoot wraps up tomorrow and then I only have two days of my internship left! I leave the city on Thursday. As much as I have truly loved being here, I am so excited to go home and see my family, dogs, and friends. I am also super excited to go back to Rochester and kick off my senior year! I can't wait to live in my own apartment and to decorate it! I also am looking forward to all of my classes this semester! Editorial Photo, Light Control and Manipulation, Advanced Retouch and Restore, Business for Photographers, and last but not least, yoga. I have a really good feeling about this upcoming year at RIT.
What have I been up to lately? Well, Tre came a little while ago and we went to Coney Island! It was a gorgeous day out and I had never been there, but always wanted to go, so I'm so glad we went! It was really busy, but I still had a great time. We walked along the beach, got gelato, I snapped some photos on my polaroid, we went on the ferris wheel, and then we stopped at Juniors in Times Square for dinner. The chocolate cake there is literally number one, you should go get some if you have never had it.
ANYWAY, I have 2 new photo shoot ideas I want to do next semester! The first one I want to do involves dancers and colored powder. Sounds weird, but here is where my inspiration is coming from:
We are not allowed to have powder in the studios, so I am thinking about doing it maybe in the woods or something like that, maybe to give it a creepy-ish vibe? I don't know, we'll see. But I already have spoken with some friends about modeling for it, so I am excited!
My next idea is rather simple. I would love to start getting into more beauty photography, like close up head/makeup shots. Something really gorgeous like this:
I would love to mess around with hair and makeup, maybe do some weird/strange looking things, but also some nice classic beauty shots too. I really just want to experiment with the whole idea of it.
Today I went to the Guggenheim with Ben! It was so fun, I'm always up for an art museum visit. Then we went to Shake Shack, which I will miss so much once I leave the city. BUT, remember when I said I was on set for a Seventeen magazine shoot months ago? Well, that shoot is finally on stands in the September issue of Seventeen and I bought my own copy I was so excited about it! I can now say that the model is Christie Brinkley's daughter, Sailor. I love these photos so much and I can't believe I can look inside this magazine and see images that I was on set for helping out with. It is so surreal to me! Here are some shots from the shoot!
