Catch up time! I had a week alone in the office while they were in LA doing a shoot about 3 weeks ago. I worked on more tear sheets and also keywording. For those who don't know, keywording is a process a lot of photographers use to tag words to specific images they take after they have been imported to a catalog. So, for example, I would go into a shoot folder, and label what the shoot was, such as "Fall Clothes", "Studio", etc. Then the photographer can later go back to the main homepage of a catalog and search "Fall Clothes", and only the photos tagged that would show up. It is not a hard process, but it takes a while to do.
That week I also went to the Whitney Museum of Art with Ben! I always love a good art museum visit. It was fun, but a bit pricey for what we saw, if you ask me. Then that same night, Tre came to visit, yay! But there's no hope in taking him to an art museum (haha), so the next day we went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, which sounds like itd be boring, but it was so fun! Also, on a side note, we went to Applebee's for dinner, and it literally costs twice as much as it does in upstate New York! I understand we're in New York City, but I didn't know that chain restaurants would cost more here. It was literally $20 and all I got was chicken tenders. BUT, the next day we went and saw Book of Mormon on Broadway, which was SO FANTASIC YOU SHOULD GO SEE IT IF YOU CAN. I don't think I have ever laughed so much at a show. Then I took Tre to Ellen's Stardust Diner, where the waiters and waitresses want to be on Broadway so they sing while they work. It's been one of my favorite places to go for years now.
Then I went to Rochester and stayed at Tre's place the following weekend. It was nice to get out of the city and photograph him. We went to Darien Lake Amusement Park and I learned that I get nauseous very quickly. But I did conquer my fear of the Ride of Steel (sort of) and finally went on it. We also saw Paper Towns, which he gets boyfriend points for sitting through that with me. Cara Delevingne is perfection and that's all there is to say about her. I love her modeling and would die if I ever had a chance to photograph her (yeah because THAT'S going to happen).
Last week there were no shoots (sadness). It consisted of me running around and doing errands, making and cutting prints, and also having my most recent work/shoots looked at. I got so much helpful feedback on my polaroid project, and I think it is something I want to continue doing beyond this internship. We starting hanging some in diptych fashion, and here are some of my favorites from the many I have taken.
Yesterday kicked off another shoot for Target, and it goes on for about three more weeks. Craziness I tell you. And this will be my last shoot while I'm here! NO :(
As for today, I'm meeting up with Ben soon to go and do some more shooting. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, lovelies <3
